My husband is beginning a big job in the morning and I hope he finishes it before the week is over. The tile we have in the kitchen looks very bad and has a lot of scratches on it. It didn't stay looking pretty like we thought it would when we bought it. My husband and a friend of ours put the tile down some years back and he will have to remove all the old tile and the boards he put under it. He doesn't know how easy that job will go. Then we have picked out a porcelain tile to put down. Everything has to be put down in stages. He has to put down backer board first. Then I guess he puts down the tile and then wait 24 to 36 hours before he can put down the grout. It will be difficult to be without the kitchen for a few days. Also, everything in the kitchen has to be moved out and we have a big kitchen. He has his work cut out for himself. The preacher is going to help some. I know he is coming tomorrow. By the way, for a well travelled area we found out that you should use porcelain tile instead of ceramic. Porcelain is heated at a much higher temperature and is recommended over ceramic. They said to use ceramic in areas that are not as well travelled. I look forward to the finished product but being without the use of the kitchen this week will be bad. We have fixed some food this evening and plan to just heat it up this week so we won't have to go out every night.
